Sinuphend is a nasal decongestant, made from
completely natural extracts, providing
desperately needed short and long term relief from sinusitis,
hayfever, colds and flu.
After years of research,
Sinuphend™ &
Sinuphend™ Paediatric's revolutionary
approach offers patients a safe natural medication, that is fast and effective
for the treatment of nasal congestion and sinusitis, free from rebound side
effects and dependence.
Sinuphend™ Tablets offers patients a safe natural medication, that is fast and
effective for the treatment of colds and flu, nasal congestion and sinusitis,
free from the effects of drowsiness that is associated with many products.
Worldwide, there are millions suffering from chronic sinus problems. Common
prescription and over-the-counter drugs that try address this problem slow down
the flow of mucus (anti-secretory), kill the bacteria (antibiotics), or shut
down the swelling (anti-inflammatory). While each strategy gives some people
temporary relief, none of these drug approaches deals with the underlying
problem. The real problem is usually a fungal infection.
Sinuphend™ is a blend of natural extracts that offers fast acting relief from
chronic sinusitis, nasal congestion, nasal discharge, rhinitis of varied
origins, catarrh, coryza, hayfever, post-nasal drip and atrophicans. The active
ingredients have anti microbial effects on most bacteria, fungi & yeast's and
contains no Benzalkonium chloride.
Every season brings along new pollens, fungi, bacteria and other airborn
antigens.
Sinuphend is designed to counter the allergic immune response to most
of these pollutants and pathogens, and encourage nasal discharge, therefore
providing both short and long term relief with no side effects.
Pharmacological Actions:
Sinuphend™ acts against bacteria, fungi and moulds
which trigger the immune response and the primary cause for nasal congestion and
sinusitis. Due to an increase in eosinophiles and the resulting release of MBP
into the mucus, bacteria proliferates in the damaged sinus lining. The delivery
mechanism is a deficient phosphos-lipid, that performs immediate trans dermal
penetration of the active ingredients.
* Fast acting
* Non Addictive
* No side effects
* Non prescriptive
* For adults and children
* No artificial preservatives
* Use as often as necessary.
* Fast sinus relief, sinus pressure, & nasal congestion.
1. What is
Sinuphend
A
Sinuphend is a nasal gel made only from natural ingredients.
2. Why is
Sinuphend a gel and not a spray
A A gel is less messy and adheres to the sides of the nasal passages.
3. Is
Sinuphend for everyone
A Yes! – there is
Sinuphend for ages 6 onwards, but it is more suited to
adults. And there is the Paediatric/Sensitive version for small children, babies
and pregnant moms and those with sensitive noses
4. Is
Sinuphend only for sinusitis?
A. No! – It can be used for nasal congestion, hayfever, colds and the flu.
5. What does
Sinuphend do?
A. The primary action to attack bacteria, fungi and moulds the primary
reasons for the immune response to nasal congestion and sinusitis. The secondary
function is to reduce inflammation and encourage nasal discharge.
6. How does it do this?
A. Refer to the individual active ingredients on pages 4 & 5 on the
pharmacological actions.
7. Why use
Sinuphend when I can use a normal nasal spray
A Common nasal sprays work primarily on two levels. By killing bacteria, and
drying up the mucous.
Sinuphend kills both bacteria and fungi. When this is done
the nose dries up on it’s own. For sinusitis the worst thing is a drying agent.
In order to clear sinusitis the sinuses need to drain, not to dry up.
8. When I use
Sinuphend my nose runs constantly.
A. Sinus infections are caused by blocked sinus passages. The mucous in
these passages needs to drain. It can take a few days to many weeks depending on
the severity. Only when fully drained will sinusitis clear.
9. Why do I need to kill fungi as well as the bacteria
A. A Mayo clinic study proved that sinusitis is first caused by fungi. A GMP
protein is made by the body to attack the fungi. This protein causes and
irritation in the nasal mucosa which leads to a bacterial response, causing
inflammation and congestion. It’s not enough to kill the bacteria you need to
kill the fungi as well.
10. Why do people become dependant on nasal sprays.
A. Most nasal sprays both natural and allopathic (eg. Drixine) use an
ingredient called Benzalkonium Chloride as a preservative. This chemical causes
rebound congestion, which basically causes the nose to block after and hour or
two after application. A cycle of dependency occurs with the constant use of the
medication in trying to unblock congested nasal passages.
11. Is Benzalkonium Chloride safe to use
A. No! – Three studies have shown that benzalkonium destroys the cilia and
nasal mucosa with long term use, especially seen in sinusitis sufferers. The
problem is that you don’t feel the harmful effects, and the damage to the cilia
and mucosa can never be repaired.
Sinuphend uses a natural preservative.
12. Is
Sinuphend safe to use
A. Yes, absolutely – There are no side effects, no risk of addiction and no
synthetic preservatives. Everything is 100% Natural and it works fast.
13. Will
Sinuphend cure my sinusitis
A. No. – This is because every season brings along new pollens, fungi,
bacteria and other airborne antigens.
Sinuphend is designed to counter the
allergic immune response to most of these pollutants and pathogens, and
encourage nasal discharge. So we can cure you for a season only.
14. When I use
Sinuphend it stings
A. Normal
Sinuphend has a slight sting that can last about 5 seconds. After
3-4 applications it becomes less noticeable. If the stinging sensation is severe
and continues for more than a minute, then you should use
Sinuphend
paediatric/Sensitive for sensitive noses. The two reasons for severe stinging
are, either you have very sensitive nasal passages or you have destroyed your
nasal mucosa from long term use of nasal sprays.
15. The gel has black spots is the product off?
A. No. These are the herbal extracts / tinctures. If you like give the
bottle a good shake.
16. What else can I do to help my sinus problems?
A. Try and determine if you have any food allergies. May people have
reactions to certain foods and drink. Common items are breads, peanuts, dairy,
coffee etc…
17. Comments from users
a. I have suffered from sinusitis for 12 years, after 1 week of
Sinuphend my
sinusitis has cleared. I only need a maintenance dose every now and again.
b. I started using
Sinuphend and my nose ran for 8 weeks before stopping. My
head is clear with no pain for the first time in 8 years.
c. I couldn’t use the normal
Sinuphend because of the burn from 20 years of
nasal sprays. But the
Sinuphend for sensitive noses is perfect and I am slowly
getting the relief I have always wanted.
d. Many of my customers have commented on the initial sting, but they all agree
that it works far better than anything they have used and continue to buy it.

The secondary function is to reduce inflammation and encourage nasal discharge.
What do the active ingredients do?
Colloidal Silver (5ppm) is absolutely safe for humans and all multi-celled
living matter Colloidal silver acts as a catalyst, disabling the enzyme that all
one-celled bacteria, fungi, and viruses use for their oxygen metabolism. This
proves lethal to over 650 different diseases, fungi, parasites, moulds, and
bacterial and viral conditions but has proven completely non-toxic to the body,
animals, and plants.

Olea europa has antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial properties. The active
compounds elenolic acid, calcium elenolate oleuropein , were found that these
chemicals ward off virus, bacterium or protozoan influenza, parasitic protozoan,
fungus, and yeast infections
Baptisia tinctoria - Although not as well known, baptisia is comparable to
Echinacea. The polysaccharides it contains have been shown to stimulate antibody
production. It is considered particularly effective for upper respiratory
infections such as tonsillitis and pharyngitis. Its principal applications have
been for mouth, throat and tonsil infections, inflammation and
sore throat, because of its antiseptic properties.
Kali Bich is indicated for thick nasal discharge, dryness, pressure and
sinusitis.
Mineral salt - A natural saline solution comprising natural minerals, matching
the salinity of the body and aids in nasal discharge.
Emu oil - Acts as a natural anti-inflammatory and trans-dermal vehicle for
transporting active ingredients through the skin.
Citrus Grandis - is a natural antimicrobial ingredient being used to kill Strep,
Staph, Salmonella, E. Coli, Influenza, parasites, that is widely recognized for
nose and throat irritations. It is effective against more than 800 bacterial and
viral organisms, 100 strains of fungus, and a large number of single-cell and
multi-celled parasites. To date there is no evidence that any type of pathogenic
micro-organism has ever built up a resistance to citrus grandis. Due to the mode
of its activity, it is believed that this resistance is impossible as CG
disrupts the organism’s cytoplasmic membrane
Oregano Vulgare has anti-viral action, making it one of the only substances
available that is effective in combating viral ailments such as the common cold,
flu, warts, shingles and herpes virus etc. Oil of Oregano will kill any kind of
"germ".

SIDE EFFECTS FROM COMMON NASAL DECONGSTANTS INCLUDE:
REBOUND CONGESTION and DEPENDENCY (BENZALKONIUM CHLORIDE)
Dependency and Rebound. The major hazard with nasal-delivery decongestants,
particularly long-acting forms is a cycle of dependency and rebound effects. The
12-hour brands pose a particular risk for this effect. This effect works in the
following way:
• With prolonged use (more than three to five days), nasal decongestants lose
effectiveness and even cause swelling in the nasal passages.
• The patient then increases the frequency of their dose. The congestion worsens
and the patient responds with even more frequent doses, in some cases to as
often as every hour.
• Individuals then become dependent on them.
About 1985 it was noted that the number and severity of cases of rhinitis
medicamentosum was increasing in proportion to the use of benzalkonium, an
antibacterial preservative found in most on the shelf prepared saline nasal
spray products. Rhinitis medicamentosum means that the nose gets stuffy and
congested after use of nose drops such as oxymetazoline. The more the nose drops
are used, the more rebound when the drug wears off, so that the drops become
almost addicting and hard to stop. The nose is stuffier after use.
Then it was discovered that you could get rhinitis medicamentosum just form the
Benzalkonium alone, as well as saline with Benzalkonium. So, it wasn't the nasal
medication that was responsible, but the Benzalkonium.
When you are allergic or with an infection, the chemicals can be more irritating
than when you are "normal".
Recent articles on the negative effects of Benzalkonium include:
Berg: Mucosa exposed to benzalkonium chloride showed squamus cell metaplasia (
the normal cells changed to undesirable cells). Benzalkonium chloride appears to
be potentially toxic to the mucosa.
Steinsvag: benzalkonium chloride has toxic effects on human respiratory mucosa
and human neutrophils. It destroyed mucosa and inhibited human neutrophil action
Benzalkonium chloride induces mucosal swelling, which explains why the presence
of this preservative in a decongestant spray aggravates rhinitis medicamentosa.
Hoffman An irreversible cessation of ciliary movement was observed in ciliary
cells exposed to nasal sprays containing Benzalkonium chloride As benzalkonium
chloride can cause complete standstill of ciliary beat frequency in vitro in
human nasal mucosa, we recommend that this preservative should not be used
anymore in topical nasal medications.
Sinuphend Tablets
Sinuphend Tablets offers patients a safe natural medication, that is fast and
effective for the treatment of colds and flu, nasal congestion
and sinusitis, free from the effects of drowsiness that is associated with many
other products.
Sinuphend tablets is a well researched formula backed by clinical trials and
studies proving there effectiveness against symptoms of Flu, Colds and
Sinusitis.
Sinuphend Tablets contain:
Quercetin is an excellent antioxidant that enhances the effectiveness of vitamin
C, and helps strengthen the walls of the intricate blood vessels in the nasal
passages. It is believed to stabilize mast cells, which contain the histamine
during an allergic attack.
Quercetin reduces the inflamma¬tory response by inhibiting release of
pro-inflammatory leukotrienes, which are one of the most potent pro-inflammatory
substances produced by our bodies. Quercetin also protects white blood cells
which, when damaged, release pro-inflammatory histamine and may also have
anti-viral activity. Bioflavonoids may help decrease swelling by reducing
capillary fragility and permeability. In human studies, the inflammatory
response was decreased when bioflavonoids were given in combination with vitamin
C, an outcome con¬firmed in double-blinded research.
Curcumin possess many health-protective benefits by providing broad-spectrum
effects throughout the body as a potent antioxidant, plus it suppresses the
enzyme COX-2 which is important for good health.
Echinacea supports the immune system by promoting the production and activity of
white blood cells. It also increases production of interferon, an important part
of the body’s natural defences.
Golden Seal contains special health-promoting properties, and has been used for
the sinuses, eyes, mouth and throat
Nettle contains unique, natural properties that help maintain healthy sinuses.
Vitamin C supports the production of glutathione, a potent antioxidant, thereby
promoting sinus and respiratory health. It has mild antihistamine activity and
as a possible consequence, some studies have reported that vitamin C is useful
in reducing painful, swollen nasal passages.
N-Acetyl cystein is an amino acid that is a major glutathione antioxidant
precursor protecting against free radical damage, thereby promoting healthy
sinus and respiratory function.
Bromelaine enzyme has been credited with breaking down fibrin, a blood-clotting
protein that can impede good circulation and prevent tissues from draining
properly. It is approved by the German commission for sinus and nasal swelling
after ENT Surgery, and has anti-histamine properties.
Bromelaine helps inhibit the formation of prostaglandins that trigger the
inflammatory response. It also makes mucus less thick, allowing mucus to drain
more easily. Fibrin is a protein that concentrates in areas of inflammation,
causing painful swelling. Bromelaine decreases fibrin deposits, preventing
damaging build-up in the sinuses and elsewhere.
Human trials have shown that by removing fibrin from areas of inflammation,
bromelain lessens swelling. Inflamed sinuses respond well to bromelain.
Double-blinded trials show that the inflammatory response is better reduced by
bromelain than by placebo. In all cases, a majority of people responded well.
Zinc helps maintain healthy cell membranes, protect cells against free radicals,
and is essential for the transport of various nutrients involved in maintenance
of tissue health.
Grape Fruit Seed extract has proven to be a safe, powerful and natural herb to
promote healthy sinus function
